Probably everyone in this thread found one thing on their list - a good time. Plus maybe a little escape from their routine/environment.

This York I'm retired/laid off and I'll already be in Tennessee so the one way distance is only 800 miles instead of 1744 miles from south Texas. But my obligations in TN may prevent me from going.

If I make it, the top items of my list will once again be the experience and the relaxation.

Although significantly smaller than in the 90's it's still the best train experience in my opinion.
