What would you buy and why?

I plan on retiring in the fall and as a gift to myself I plan on buying another loco. I am mostly a pw collector and not into command at all. I am looking at the lionel 700e from 1990 or the 763e from 1997. For anyone that has one or both what are your thoughts on how they run and have held up through the years and which has better sound. Thanks
