I've found that nothing beats supporting a surviving-or-thriving local hobby shop with your pre-orders or continuing needs.
If they're all gone from your locality, it's a shame...unless their trackside manners were to blame.
With runaway shipping prices/costs, what's a few bucks difference in advertised price really worth for long distance sourcing? Add to that the risk of having your BTO 2-4-6-8 become a piñata or volleybox as it re-enters the shipping game.
Symbiotics.....it can be a good thing. Smiles, handshakes, conversation.....'counter'-intelligence with problems and concerns....like candy sprinkles on a dish of ice cream. A Keurig on the counter, ain't bad, either!
