When we attended ED York going back about 5 years, we always opted to stay in the Lancaster area. Its generally quieter in the evening but the choices for lodging and food are much larger. There is a nice Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott's, Suite Hotels , hundreds of other places to lodge and many places to shop and dine on authentic Amish food. Lots or recreational activities there as well. Its about a 35 minute drive East of York on RT 30.
