I would think so. I don't have any to try though. Keith gave an example of engine that doesn't have an RCMC. BMEC engines work on back emf, not a tach sensor. A handful of Legacy engines use this system, mostly smaller ones. They are like Odyssey engines that can really only get paired with themselves.
