Reply to "Will Lionel's 2020 catalog be released at York?"

Yes, Ryan said on Wednesday at the Toy Train Museum that it would be January 20th, 2020. He said that to celebrate 120 years there is going to be a lot of stuff coming. He said, "A lot of projects, some new Vision Line products will be coming, etc., etc." Now what that exactly means I would imagine that there will be a Vision Line engine in the next catalog, what exactly it is will be a mystery. We had some speculation(a few of us the other night and tonight) but of course this is stuff that is more in tune with what our own wish list are. Whatever is in the next catalog, is going to have to be something else. I know that most would agree that we are getting to a point where we are not wanting to see stuff we have 2 or 3 or even more of, and the market seems to have more than its fair share of the same thing way too much of.

So, what could it be? Is it going to be stuff that they worked up new toolings for? Maybe not. Ryan had hinted about something on Wednesday and I definitely don't want to misquote him, but it had to do with toolings in general. I don't know if the presentation from Wednesday is up on YouTube yet, but I would say have a listen to see what all he says. He did say that there was going to be a lot more HO coming around, with quite a bit of stuff. I am guessing that has to do with some of the Model Power molds and such that they acquired as well as whatever engines and rolling stock are coming out.

Besides all that, one can only hope that whatever is in the works, is good sound stuff that we can all appreciate and enjoy without any issues coming out of the woodwork. Since I am such a big steam fan, you can kind of guess what I would like to see(Steam, lol). As long as it is a road name I want, I will buy it or at least take some time to consider. See what comes.
