Reply to "Will Weaver 3 rail E-8s traverse O-36 curves?"

Yes they most certainly will. back in the early 1990s I purchased 4 sets of Weaver E8 AAs. There were Amtrak, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific (daylight colors), and Canadian Pacific. I ran them on Super O (036) track. I still have all of them. They are basic units that came with 2 motors in each unit and head lights but nothing else. I would imagine some people could have added horn and bell sounds as well as engine sound. In the later 90s MTH purchased the E8 dies along with the SD 40-2 dies and the C630 dies from Weaver that were produced in the same factory as the MTH product. I have those as well in Chessie System for the SD40-2s and Delaware & Hudson for the C630s but these locomotives do have the sounds as they as they came out after the E8s.

P.S. For all of you New Haven Railroad fans: The ShopRite Supermarket chain has been selling a line of men's socks that show a retail price of $9.00 for $1.00 a pair. They come in many color patterns however one of the sock patterns are in the New Haven colors of red/orange, black and white just like the EP5s of 1955 and the FL9s from 1957. CT. Dot still has 4 of the Genesis P32s in those colors passing my home daily. I purchased 3 pair of these and also have at least a dozen pair of this sock brand (mb 55 by Excell) in other colors for about a year now. They are 80% cotton, 10% spandex and 10% nylon.
