I wouldn’t unscrew anything, just use wires on dz1000 and connect them to dz 1008. They tell what color wires go where. I did a Ross double cross over with dz 2500 hundreds. I just used wire nuts. Be sure you solder rails one and two correctly and when wiring be sure don’t get mixed up.
