You should have no problem with parallel tracks, don't screw around with chicken wire or aluminum foil! You can easily cause signal issues doing stuff that isn't needed. The only signal that is affected with those measures is TMCC/Legacy, and a flat layout with multiple tracks is absolutely no problem.
