2. Legacy Hudsons w/whistle steam that aren't New York Central. So much to choose from. ATSF 3460s would get orders, as would New Haven I5 Shoreliners and Milwaukee F7s. Wabash P1s and Lackawanna M1s could be a surprise success.
3. Legacy Santa Fe 3400 class heavy Pacifics w/whistle steam, based on their later appearance as rebuilt with disc drivers (see ATSF 3415)

Would all these require new tooling? Heard MTH dropped the I5 because orders didn't justify new tooling cost. They said the 3460 frame wouldn't appease the rivet counters and a new frame was too much $$$.

Any takers on the odds Lionel purchased some MTH steam engine tooling?
