Reply to "Wonder of wonders: "Franken-Northern" Legacy ATSF 2900 is alive!"

Always interesting to watch another Mad Locomotive Butcher at work. Are the purists

and collectors outside with the torches and pitchforks, yet?

I have the Lionel 3751 RS5 4-8-4, and a PS1 2903 - but I will NOT be doing what you did.

The 2903 has never run, really - and I have had it 15 years or so; it is a "ding-ding"

engine, and will run only, and absolutely only, on a PW Lionel transformer. No Lionel bricks, no TPC's, no Z-1000's, no Z-anythings. I have a friend with the same engine and the same situation. PW or no go. As I am all command anyway, it sits.

But I do prefer it to the 3751, in looks, and I'm not sure why. One day next year,

I hope, finally, I will install an ERR Cruise Commander.
