Arnold, the OGR Forum Meeting at the Fairgrounds is usually held at 2pm on Friday afternoon. It originally was held in the grandstand but in later years they have moved it to other places usually due to the weather. When they had the very first meeting I believe the purpose of the meeting was for OGR Forum members from all over the country to get to meet each other and put a face and personality to the comments on the screen but soon it seemed to me to turn into a sort of commercial. They usually have representatives from all the major train companies who would explain about and or display new products and it is hard to talk to other guys while this is going on unless you are sitting right next to someone. I don’t mean to knock it as it was usually interesting and you could ask questions but the way information travels these days I felt I was going to find out anyway and you could go to the booth to ask your question there. After going for many years I started to get the feeling it wasn’t worth it for me so I stopped going because I usually have only day at York and I wanted to spend as much time checking out all the halls. I think you would be better off to go to the other places forum members meet at which I believe is the Round the Clock Diner and at Quaker Steak. I know Peter (Putnam Div) has mentioned the Round the Clock Diner and I don’t know anything specific about the other place. I believe Peter said it would be Thursday morning. I am sure Peter and others will post information about these meetings as it gets closer to York. I usually can’t make these meetings due to only being there one day but I might be able to this year.
