Out of the 75 or so Weaver cars I have.....60 have plastic trucks. Maybe two have had the 'issue' with side frames....fixed in 10 minutes with epoxy.....a 10 cent fix. Plastic trucks are not an issue unless you make it one.

BTW....the 'issue' with the plastic trucks was always a result of rough treatment in shipment.....not while running.
