My hat is off to NS for painting these engines attractively in a hybrid Southern/NS scheme and for maintaining the classy N&W red train, and especially for running these engines in A-B-B-A formation, visually and aurally classic.

Agreed, it is is very classy. Much better than getting a couple of mix-matched freight diesels cleaned up for power.

NEW VIDEO! Norfolk Southern OCS Amherst, OH

TrainWizard5972 ·
Today was a grand day. Around 1 PM I received an email from heritageunits.com informing me that the Norfolk Southern Office Car Special (OCS) was heading east out of Sandusky, OH. I immediately grabbed all of my camera equipment and headed the best place in town to catch trains at Crosse RD in Amherst, OH. Two minutes later the beautifully restored EMD F7 ABBA unit set charged through with 15 passenger coaches. According to a fellow railfan on the scene, click here for his fantastic...

Don't know if they are still there but Johnny's in Latonia was a fairly viable source. Can't remember the name but there was a place in Louisville where I got most of my L&N stuff. P.S._It has been a number of years since we have been back there.

Dixie needs a bigger building. The place in E-Town moved several blocks over to the main drag, but downsized. He did get the Atlas beer cars made for Fehr's and other Louisville breweries.

I'm getting into 2 rail O scale and am really looking for an Atlas MP15DC in G&W livery - I'd take one that is 2 or 3 rail (I could convert to 2 rail) and it could be powered or unpowered. Truth be told, I'd be interested in whatever G&W livery equipment anyone would be willing to part with: Rochester & Southern, Buffalo & Pittsburgh, Ohio Central, Indiana & Ohio, etc. I'm not sure if any other G&W owned railroads are produced in O scale or not, but I figured...

Take a Look at the Restoration of a Steam Locomotive

TrainMan1225 ·
Hello all, Last weekend, I made a trip up to the American Steam Railroad in Cleveland, Ohio to take a look at the restoration of Reading T1 no. 2100. I documented the work done that day, and made a video to share the progress with a wider audience. The video is now up, so enjoy and thanks for watching!

Warther’s Knife Museum in New Philadelphia is an amazing place. The astonishing things Moody Warther carved from wood are almost beyond comprehension. His steam locomotives are simply beyond adequate description (there are lots of them), and the Lincoln Funeral Train is a true artistic masterpiece. As are so many other pieces. Please take my advice and visit the museum. You will be thrilled you did, believe me. And humbled before artistic genius btw, their handmade on the premises cutlery is...

The dates for "the holidays" meetings are not set as of yet - November/ December. As we get closer- we would be happy to adjust the schedule to a weekend that you are in the area!! In my experience, every person we meet brings something we all benefit from. The John Nagurney presentation on repair of Lionel PW locomotives was terrific as one example. (I anyone would like the notes from that- contact me.)
