Silver RailRoad Motif Presentation Coffee and Tea Set

You never know where you are going to run into interesting railroad stuff. I took my mother and brother to the High Museum here in Atlanta over Christmas and ran across this piece of railroad history. Lots of railroad iconography on this set. Tracks around platter edge. Locomotive bells on the top of the pitchers. Railroad scenes on the front of the various pitchers and bowls. The tray is even more interesting as there a locomotive under the sugar holder on the left and some sort of car...

Coffee grounds for scenery?

I have read some people have used coffee grounds for scenery and ballast on a layout. Any suggestions or comments?

I couldn't agree more with Avanti. I think that everyone has their own opinion and what works well for one person might not work for another. You could always make a small sample to see if you are happy with the result.

Same argument when it comes to what to use as ballast. He ask for comments so I gave him one. Many of the topics in this forum CONTINUE to pop up, many members do NOT use the search forum, or don't know how to use it.

I did not at all mean to be critical, and, yes, I do realize that topics recur. It is just that this particular topic recurs SO often, has been discussed SO thoroughly, and is always SO heated, there is perhaps more than normal cause to start...
