Lionel 6-16983 PRR Well Hole type flatcar with custom oversize load. Here is a "crated load" that would be typically transported in this type of car. The load is seated in the well and allows for a lower center of gravity. The model also requires chain or cable tie-downs to restrain the load (not shown). Here is the "crated load" used with this car. As shown the load fits in the well. The load could also be used on a depressed center flatcar as well.

Just a thought that occurred to me when I saw this... It would be cool to do a run of the Schmidt Beer nature series cans from back in the day. There had to be about twenty different types. That would make one sweet train. I have twelve of the beer cans still. Some guys will know what I'm talking about. The muskie was always the one we wanted as kids. I got one!

William - I checked Schmidt Beer out on the Internet. Those are some fancy full color beer cans. My Dad used to collect and sell beer cans. Brings back great memories : ) Paula

Lionel 6-16983 PRR Well Hole type flatcar.

Lionel 6-16983 PRR Well Hole type flatcar. This O scale model is a six axle well hole flatcar that is patterned after the PRR F33 flatcar. The prototype F33 was used to carry oversize loads and is very similar in concept to modern well type container cars. The Lionel model also includes two reels for loads. Note: The prototype PRR F33 car numbers were 470080 to 470089. The prototype PRR trucks were Buckeye class 3F-F3 and had a 9 foot wheelbase. A photo of an HO model of the PRR F33 is also ...

For: Mark the Menard's train guy I am a huge fan of the Menards buildings and have purchased most of them via mail order. I went on line as prompted by the email I received from Menards to purchase this building. Although, I think the pricing is OK on this building, I take offense that the add shows an "on Line" price of $62.29 as that is not he price you pay "on line". You must pay $69.99 plus shipping and then get a rebate of the 11% but living in North Carolina, such a rebate is of NO...

I keep being more impressed with Menard's commitment to our hobby. I understand that if you do not have a local store, the discount or rebate is hard or impossible to use. I would think you could use it online if you purchase again? Maybe Mark can answer this? Keep up the good work Menards. Art

Rebate or not, the price, the product, and commitment to providing new "O" scale items is outstanding. Keep providing and making, and I will purchase. So far, all the building will, and have found a place on my layout.
