For $20, Charlie's kit is a good deal. What I use now though is a ZipLoc bag that hangs from a hook above my workbench. I don't have very many modules though.

CNC = Computer Numerical Control In this case a CNC router I would guess. You can take a Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing and using Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) software generate or program a tool path from the drawing. The CNC router then follows the program. TM’s “Modern O Gauge Remote Control Part 2”

Many cringe at the thought of wading through instruction manuals, or are just congenitally oblivious to such exercises. Riding to the rescue of these wayward souls are Bob Phillips and the boys at TM Video, who have prepared two instructional videos covering Legacy and TMCC operations. The new TM instructional video, Modern O Gauge Remote Control Part 2 , builds upon the introduction to Lionel Legacy control covered in Modern O Gauge Remote Control Part 1 . Lionel Legacy Engine Set-up Help

Karl Anderson 022117 ·
I’m quite new to the hobby and have been slowly putting my 3 rail layout together for the last 10 months. This past week I was finally able to power it up and start running some trains, which was the best feeling after months of research and time spent learning how to get my layout to come to life. I’m running both MTH DCS and Lionel Legacy and things were going great as I had successfully added both an MTH & Lionel Legacy engine; however, when I went to add an additional Lionel Legacy...

New or Used Legacy 990

Hi all...Long time train (HO) fan, first time O gauge owner. This is my first post, so I will give a brief background. I have had trains since the early 70's and still have my fathers old 1962 HO Lionel set in OB. I have always admired O gauge trains and the beauty of postwar steam engine...My better half bought me a 1949 #675 steam engine and appropriate cars to make up the 1949 set along with a rebuilt old ZW transformer. I love it...I bought some Atlas track and have roughly a 5'x10' oval...

I will include what I currently have and the dimensions of my bench work. On the benchwork (labeled TrainTableExact) diagram there are some brown rectangles that roughly correspond to a false wall I plan on putting a backdrop on. It is not exact but very close. I have attached the scarm files and jpegs of my current...

Fastrack power distribution w/Legacy control best practice

DavidR ·
I would appreciate advice on track power distribution for Fastrack w/Legacy. I only plan for one transformer, and right now have only one power terminal track for my 5 X 4 loop, but I'll be expanding in the near future. The recommended practice for DCC is one power drop for every ~6' of track, and a fairly heavy (12-14 gauge) power buss. Is there a recommended best practices along these lines for a Legacy controlled layout?

Smoke output and control type

I figured out the pairing the Lionel Legacy 990 to my lionel allegheny 2-6-6-6 locomotive. I have read the instructions on how to increase and decrease the smoke output in the Allegheny instructions, but trying to do it on the lionel legacy 990 is very confusing. I do AUX1, AUX1, 9. But once I push AUX1 the screen changes from the numerical screen to a icon screen. Can anyone help me. Another question, once I got the allegheny locomotive paired with the lionel legacy 990 I went into the info...

CAPPilot ·
After following forum posts on how to get the best results from DCS and Legacy, I sold off the things I read was bad and bought the things I read was good and put together a power system I thought would work. After reading the recent posts on DCS/TIU failures I'm no longer sure what I have is good. Part of my problem is I'm good at putting stuff together from instructions/diagrams, but not very knowledgeable on how it works. And the recent discussions have been way over my head. I've stopped...

Lionel Command Switches, Legacy, Remotes

phoch00 ·
Hey all, I've upgraded my layout to use Legacy and I've programmed all of my switches in. I also have LCS in place and all of the switches respond as expected to either the iPad app or the Legacy remote. My question is (and yes I searched the forum) - once I've got this all hooked up in a command mode, should I detach/unwire all of the out of the box remote levers? Do you generally keep them connected as a backup or do you disconnect them to clean up the layout? Thanks!

Lionel Legacy Version 1.5 for this listing?

I found this listing on Ebay of a Lionel Legacy Command System that claims to have Version 1.5. It has the Version 1.5 manual in the box, so does that mean the system is already running Version 1.5 out of the box? The package also has 2 blue upgrade modules, which I assume are either backup modules of Version 1.5 or they are a higher version modules. There's also a black module along with the blue modules, which I know is a blank writable module. Here's the listing for anyone who wants to...

Lionel Legacy Engine Blinking Cab Light With DCS

Ricky S ·
Hello, I was running my Lionel Legacy SD70ACe #8444 before and I noticed that the cab light was blinking. I did AUX1 - 0 and nothing worked. The product number is 6-28330. I believe that the engine has to be reset with reset codes. I found reset codes, but those are for the Cab 1, Cab 2, or Legacy remote, which I do not have. I use the DCS Remote and WIU. All of my systems are updated. What can I do? Thanks, Ricky

Lionel StationSound Diner - Conventional or DCS Compatability

Carl Peduzzi ·
Dear all, We are currently running a DCS only system. Lionel Legacy is a future possibility but not anytime soon. We are looking at purchasing a Lionel StationSounds diner for our layout, though we weren’t sure of how well it would work with MTH DCS. My questions are... will it work with regular DCS track voyage (18v) and just provide random sounds if we don’t have a Legacy system? Does anyone have experience with running these cars on DCS/conventional without Legacy? Any info appreciated?

Lionel Legacy F7

Mike Wyatt ·
I have had it one week, today. The loco runs great- great sound, and is a fine-looking piece. So I am sorry to have to post this, but if you buy one of these be sure and check all the screws. Maybe half of mine were what I would call "loose"- parts that were screwed to the frame. Most issues seem to be the screws holding the "added details" like the truck frames, the step mounted TO the truck frame (in my case, one fell out - who knows where??). I tightened them about 1/3- 1/2 turn. Not a...

A few months ago, I purchased a Lionel 6-11411 TMCC L-2a Mohawk, and I just recieved a Lionel LEGACY command set #990. Legacy Memory Modules

ConductorDean ·
I’m new to legacy and need a wee bit of help. The memory modules I understand are used to load info to engines and the remote but as for the writeable ones, can new info for an engine (such as new announcements) be put onto it and loaded onto the engine? And another question is the program used to update and load things to the modules, where do I get this program and does it cost anything? Thanks
