MTH SW1500 riding up on Lionel switches

pittsburghrailfan ·
The local club I belong to recently added another extension to its O gauge layout. Because of material constraints, we were forced to use old Lionel tinplate/tubular O-72 switches to create sidings and spurs. When I attempted to run our 30- 2749-1 SW1500 across these switches lined in the straight direction, the locomotive's truck appears to ride up on the frog; it gets stuck about when the front truck crosses the frog. Are there any solutions to this issue? If videos or pictures are needed,...

O-Line Switch Track Question

I have four O-Line Super-Snap O72 switch tracks. I was hoping to control all of my switch tracks with DTSP momentary toggle switches. However, the O-Line switch track controllers are marked for left and right hand switches and have a small circuit board inside of them. Can I substitute a simple momentary toggle switch ?

Hi all...Long time train (HO) fan, first time O gauge owner. This is my first post, so I will give a brief background. I have had trains since the early 70's and still have my fathers old 1962 HO Lionel set in OB. I have always admired O gauge trains and the beauty of postwar steam engine...My better half bought me a 1949 #675 steam engine and appropriate cars to make up the 1949 set along with a rebuilt old ZW transformer. I love it...I bought some Atlas track and have roughly a 5'x10' oval...

Desperately in need of HELP with completing layout design. New to Lionel Fastrack & o gauge

Good Morning All, My name is Anthony and I am working on customizing an o gauge fastrack layout I found online. I am new to o gauge and the fastrack system and I’m running into some problems selecting the right tracks to complete the layout. I just downloaded the SCARM custom software to test out the idea I have and I can’t seem to connect the loops. I was wondering if someone out there would be able to help me finalize this layout with the correct pieces that will complete the layout or a...

Disappointed with O-Line O72 switch tracks

Dan Padova ·
In the continued tested of my new layout, I have been trying out several of the locomotives I have purchased over the past couple of years. Some are post-war Lionel, some are K-Line and also RMT. When the K-Line and RMT locomotives pass over an O-Line O72 switch track, they will stall. Unless I move the loco by hand, it will not regain power. You can imagine my dissapointment. The RMT locos I have tested are a pair of Beefs (tethered together) and the #51 Navy switcher Beep. The Beefs fair...

New CityScape Structure- Corrigan Station, Kansas City

We have chosen the Corrigan Building to develop as the second structure for a Kansas City block scene (the first is the Pickwick Hotel) and the choice has proven quite the challenge in many different ways: How big to make it (full building width by depth), how to ratio windows and floor heights to match the resultant footprint, and how to detail it without going totally overboard. Here’s a little bit of the story: The Corrigan Building (named Corrigan Station because the USPS leased the...

Dennis GS-4 N & W No. 611 ·
The companion thread includes a compelling case for why a number of hobbyists find Super "O" track to be a very appealing alternative to the other track systems available. Based on the fact that Lionel has not chosen to reissue Super "O" to date, one could logically surmise that this decision is based upon valid business reasons according to their evaluation. Obviously, Super "O" is not everyone's favorite, and those hobbyists would justifiably not be interested in the track system. And, a...
