Over the last 16 years of model building I have had the honor to do the majority of buildings on some great layouts.   Here is a layout that features models based on actual buildings from the 50'.  to do this I pick the major architectural details from photos, then design the building to fit the layout.  All postcards are from the collection of Stu Gralnik.  All final scenery was done by the client.

Lionel Super Fast Service

baggetta ·
I bought one of the Lionel Mikados January of 2015. When I first got it, it smoked beautifully, but about 6 months later it stopped smoking. I had a lot of other things to do so I didn't worry about it. Around December or so I was working with the trains and running the Mikado, which I got use to without smoke, but I began thinking this shouldn't be, so I played around with it hoping that it would miraculously start spewing smoke again. About late January I checked with my local hobby shop...

Most modelers show pictures of building their layouts. I on the other hand am posting pictures of taking down the layout. I am doing this to show the constru ction method. After a while I came up with a 2x3 inch grid that the modules rested on. this meant I didn't have to add the legs when I set it up at home. We then moved again and we were able to quickly put it up using...
