Hi, Mark,
I've purchased 2 so far. Both were missing the brake wheel. Both are sealed packages, which leads me to wonder: is there supposed to be a brake wheel? If not, why not?
I am pretty sure all of their flats have brake wheels.
Not sure as I don’t have one, but I don’t see a brake wheel in the picture, not even a hole in the stand where it would be.
Thanks for the heads up on this one! Haven't been here in awhile because of work. Just ordered some of these-what a great offering! Thank you Menard's!
NeophyteMRR,
Good evening Sir,
After you receive your new flatcars from Menards, would you please tell us if yours have a brake wheel. I hope they do but I bet they don't.
if i were buying these I would 3D print a brake wheel, stand and chains.
Remove the stand and replace.
Same thing happened to me on one of the latest sets of ore cars released, as we all know they come in a 2 pack one was missing the break wheel. Not a big deal of course, as I have dozens of spares. Must have been near break time in the factory!!!! LOL

Wish I had your know how Alan. Of course a 3D printer would help as well! 🤷🏻♂️
Wouldn't buying one be easier?
Just ordered one. If it doesn’t have a brake wheel it’s not a deal breaker. I have spare rolling stock I use for parts I’m sure I have an extra brake wheel.

It already has a stand (as such) .... just need a break wheel from the parts bin or a 50 cent item from a train parts vendor.... maybe one of the OFR Forum sponsors.
That makes no sense. Why offer such a nice piece of rolling stock and not put a brake wheel on the mount. What would that add, a penny to the price?
There is a brake wheel shortage! There going for 20 bucks on the internet.
Maybe China sold them to Russia to use in their jets😏

Well I got the the car yesterday and it did come with a brake wheel!👍 But it came on a TIDE tank car I didn’t order?? 🤦🏻♂️ Oh well! Not the end of the world but I contacted Menards customer service and I’m just waiting to hear back.
