Here is a series of sharp photos of the DTTX 5-unit intermodal well cars in the newest TTX scheme in 2015.
It might be possible to make an articulated version of the car.

Yeah, Photobucket wants me to pay $400 (per year) so I can use their service. Needless to say, I'm working on a solution.
Have a great weekend!

FOTKI is easy to use.....TONS of storage.....pretty cheap by the price you quoted......
Frank,
If Menard's made every husky stack car you have picture both in single and three car sets, it would be great for the folks that run modern trains. Plus, it would be good for them because people would have to buy more sheets of plywood to build storage yards and more lumber to build shelves.
Frank,
CABINET BOB, must have nightmares every time he reads this post.
With this double stack car still garnering praises as well it should it is one nice car I wonder, today is Monday meaning tomorrow is Tuesday. And being that it is the fourth of July I wonder if Mark and the boys will bring out another little goodie. Maybe in the good old red, white and blue paint scheme. Waiting patiently............Everybody have a great fourth of July ...........................Paul
It's fantastic that this release is generating so much interest- I can only conclude that it is a subject that was overdue for modeling!
Bravo Menards!
Here's a little shot from work. Port Newark NJ
I picked up my well car with double stack container today- wow is this a BIG unit. I'd advise checking clearances before placing an order...
Not sure what to do about the 'chrome' parts... they at the very least need some toning down to make them more realistic. Any suggestions?
If not happy with the chrome look you can always paint the brake wheel and the air cylinder the color of the car.....Paul
if Mark even considers half of Frank's schemes then Bob is gonna have to buy a whole shoe store.

A small paint brush and some flat yellow hobby paint??? Either Testors or Tamiya.....
Now that Menards is offering 20' containers, I hope they offer the big 53' containers. They would look great on top of a 40' container.
I'm sure Menards has already started making 40' containers and then will hopefully follow up with the 53' ones.
Please Mark.
Does anybody have one of these Menards cars in addition to an MTH version? I'd love to see them side by side for comparison. How close are these cars to scale?
Even Lionel's new bridge is not high enough for some of their own product. I had to modify it. Sadly it has the height if the upper cross braces were made differently. MTH has a couple bridges that are reasonably high, but not 7 inches which should be considered.
banjoflyer posted:The new 20' containers are a bit taller than the original 40' container. When the well car is riding on Lionel Fastrack laid on a Lionel 317 bridge a load of 2 20' containers with a 40' container on top will clear the 5.5" bridge height clearance.
But if you double stack the 20' containers like this:
You'll have problems with clearance. The load is about 1/8" too tall to clear a 317 Lionel bridge laid with Fastrack.
So a word of caution...measure first...run second! Don't ask me how I know this!
Mark
The 20-footers are never loaded like this in real life, so this may be a moot point.

Very nice release. About 25 sets of 4 would make for a nice train.
Hoping to see the second Double Stack Intermodal car soon.
Here is are photos of a Thrall Car Lo-Pac in the current TTX scheme taken on August 16th, 2017.

I got my first Menards intermodal car yesterday for Christmas. Great looking car BUT,,,,,,,,,, It will not go around my Marx 34" half curve without hitting my IR signal trigger. It hits my tunnel opening and will not clear my Lionel 315 Truss Bridge with light. My Lionel intermodal car must be semi scale?
The earlier ones are pretty much S scale.
