We thought you would find this of interest.

As you all know, shipping product has been a nightmare for several months. This is how our new shipment of 4.5-volt transformers and 9-Piece Plug & Play Accessory Kit arrived.

One of the dock workers at the Port of Vancouver punched the forklift right through the side of the container and into the product inside! Fortunately, no one was hurt and most of the product was not damaged. The container continued its journey via the Canadian National railroad and eventually made it to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

We are really sorry we ran out of the 9-Piece Plug & Play Accessory Kit (our SKU # 279-4681). They make wiring your layout so simple! They will be back for sale within the next week or so. Thank you for your patience!

Have a very happy and safe 4th of July from the Menards Train Team!

Menards, Thank you for lettings us know of the latest dilemma.  All of us, both businesses and consumers have to be patient concerning deliveries.  When we had a new range delivered by one of your competitors, (the closest Menards is in another state) my wife discovered it had been punctured by a fork lift.  Why they loaded it on the delivery truck is beyond us.  She is the most diplomatic woman in the world, but of course she asked for a different range.  I'm sure Menards customers can get anxious about delivery delays on major appliances when their old ones don't work any more like was the case with us.  We hobby customers have no reason not to be patient.

@Mark Boyce,

You've captured perfectly a concept that too many of us nowadays, on this forum and elsewhere, neither comprehend nor appreciate.  Perhaps we choose not to?

Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing.  Check out the definition of the word 'hobby' on Google:

Why would anyone want to ruin their leisure time or pleasure by winding themselves up over a shipping delay, or any other delay for that matter?

Thank you for your very appropriate wisdom.

Mike

So did any of the containers contain Menards' containers?   And if so, did any of the Menards' containers contained inside the damaged containers get damaged?  If so, they could be highly collectible

Love the plug and play accessory sets.  These work great for not only Menards buildings but Lemax buildings, too.  If this item is the one with the separate 4.5 volt light strips, that's great to have them back in stock.

Let's hope the first shipment of locomotives weren't at the bottom of that container.......

Being a forklift technician it never seems to amaze me the level of incompetence. Be aware while at Home Depot or any other box store that the operator has little training !!!

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, nearly 100 workers are killed and another 20,000 are seriously injured in forklift-related incidents annually. Statistically, that means one of every ten forklifts in the US will be involved in an accident every year. (google search)

Remember when HD first opened, they didn't close the aisles when picking stock from upper shelves. After several accidents (and lawsuits), they changed the policy.

And why is that  @RSJB18? Are you looking "to take a stab" at the next beta test run of the locomotive?

stuff like this reminds me of a time when I was in the navy a person learning to drive a forklift accidentally drove it off and onto the pied below, sadly he didn't make it.
