Lionel A6 Atlantic noise with smoke running

Bad smoke fan motor. Very common issue since 2011 or so. It seems Lionel can't overcome it.

If your comfortable doing your own repairs sometimes a drop of oil on the output shaft bushing will quiet it. Otherwise the fan motor will need to be replaced.

You could always contact Lionel for warranty service if it's new. However It will  likely be awhile before it returns.

It’s new out of the box so guessing will have to send it in.  

Between this the ALCOs and bad couplers on some recent heavyweight passenger cars I’m on a first name basis with Lionel customer service

What noise?  I don't hear any significant fan noise.  What does it sound like with the audio off?  If you're trying to isolate mechanical noises, turn off the audio so we can hear what you are talking about.

Added another closer camera video. See if the sound is more pronounced 

Again, turn OFF the sounds so we can just hear what the reported issue is!

I can hear it in the close-up videos. Sounds like someone squeezes a squeaky toy each exhaust when moving. A constant kazoo sound when stopped.

Oddy, I could not hear it in the first video.

That’s a good description. 

Get there might be some noise but seemed more than usual. The only other Lionel steam engine I have does not have hardly any sound per chuff or especially buzzing at idle when smoke unit is on.

What he said. I have had smoke fan motors quite down after some use

Try JT's Mega-Steam Eliminator.  It's supposed to be good for quieting noisy smoke units.

Have to get some. 

Was at local hobby shop and they had the UP A6 running. Definitely  a difference between mine and another A6

I have a A6 in the Boston and Maine scheme but it seems to have that issue, some audio cut outs and when I use the lioncheif app under the tree, the train blows the whistle until i can pair up to it. any ideas?
