Finally builder is set to deliver material to start the new building. A 34 x 40 ft space dedicated to my post war Lionel dealer display layouts. Planning to recreate a 1950's train/hobby shop as I have also collected matchbox and dinky cars and dealer display items. Just hope gets up and ready before the the weather changes. Also just finished reproducing a rare "layout" of such from Lionel as was included in a single set with the general and frontier plasticville  set. Came in a 20 x 30" box with general engine and cars. Basically it is the same track plan as seen in the early 1960's dealer catalogs but was cut in 1/2 to ease packing and shipping for the consumer. Will decorate with proper plasticville items for full effect. IMG_2567IMG_2570IMG_2568

Rick, I really admire your work. Congratulations on the new space. Do you have any ambitions of opening it to the public as a museum of sorts?  How’s the project coming along?

Still waitng on builders to get started, all the materials on site. My hope is to be able to share with the train collectors at least. Always concern  to let just anyone come in to see but I enjoy sharing. Also this will free up a lot of space in workshop for other projects and restorations. I am wanting to accurately recreate some of the prewar dealer displays with correct tin mountain construction etc.
