That MTH water tank sounds like a toilet flushing.  🤔

Not sure that it does, and I don't care. I like it. It does need considerable paint, Dullcote and weathering. I don't usually drift toward this sort of "accessory", but when I think of the Lionel PW solenoid-operated ones....BUZZ!

Enjoyed your LS visit; I got to enjoy the new stuff a bit without having to pay for it. The KCS 2-10-4 (the real one) has always been an esthetic favorite of mine. I realize that this version is the Lionel PRR/C&O 2-10-4 blended unit and not the KCS engine, but that loco would probably never get tooled up anyway (especially now), so this version is not too implausible. Not the worst starting point; being me, I'd probably make a few changes to enhance the "accuracy".

That seems to be the running joke about anything in O-guage with water sounds. I think it sounds like a tender being filled myself but.... maybe Curt has a much larger toilet than I do, LOL!

Having said that. I preordered one of these from Ro and I'm very happy with it. While the Broadway Limited water tower is a bit more asthetically pleasing, I couldn't get past the non functioning spout chain and the MTH Tower is lower in price to boot.

The mechanism is nearly silent and the sounds are well executed.

On a side note, it appears Stockyard express did a custom run of these water towers for the NKP road. If I would have known sooner I may have grabbed one of these instead and tried to remove the lettering as I prefer the color scheme.
