Yes, they are indeed 1:43.5.   O Gauge/O Scale  in England ,and Europe, is 1:43 through 1:50, but mostly 1:43 and  1:43.5... US ,O, is 1:48.... As we all know though rarely are figures the exact size they are supposed  to be.

These figures from this company are exactly 1:43.5 . Completely accurate.

I prefer 1/43 if I have to paint them.  Just that few MM extra makes them a tad easier to paint and handle'...

Yeah, it comes down to track gauge.  In 1:48, your basic O gauge track actually clocks out at 5 foot gauge,  so, in Europe, they decided to scale things up a tad to 1:43 to make the track a proper 4' 8 1/2".  This is also why most Dinky, Corgi et cetera diecast cars are 1:43 scale...

Ted, were you the model for the photographer?   The painted figures look fantastic.  Now all you need is eggs and bangers!

Thanks so very much Joe & Ed'.  In fact I'm re-doing some of the faces.  Not happy with a few of them'.  I should checked with the camera before I finished them.  As careful as I was I still screwed up on certain areas'..  The figures are good replicas.  The faces are not as detailed as the bodies or as detailed as I would like.  I recon it is because they 're actual real people that they scan and  maybe they  deliberately don't focus on the face.

Thank you Mitch for checking in.  I think England has got correct'.  This is why there is very little 1:48 vehicles out there...
