Good morning Switcher Saturday crew.  It's time once again to express our admiration for little engines that do big things.

Here is my daughter's pet shop switcher, posing at a tunnel

20191109_061049[1]

As usual, there's a few simple rules for Switcher Saturday:

1.This threads welcome switchers of all sizes and sources, such as 12" to the foot, live steam, HONGZ and of course 3 rail O gauge.  If it's related to switchers (model switchers, prototypes, critters, switching yards, switching layouts) - we want to see it! Videos, Pics, Stories (true or fictional), poems, whatever!

2. If you miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday. If you missed last weekend's post - check it out here.

3. Keep it friendly - we want this to be fun. (we haven't had any real problems with grumpy trolls, I'd like to keep it that way)

4. In regards to compliance with the letter and spirit of the OGR tos, this post is in the photo album section as the subject is switchers and small motive power.  Three rail O is the common medium but anything from prototype through Hongz, grand scales, live steam etc is welcome, as long you took the photo yourself or have permission to post it.  Feel free to post a link to something cool.

In the clear morning light, yesterday's work:

      IMG_4161

After the last dinner call last evening the crew tied down #1545 and the Dinner Train at the old Station. Yesterday's switching work resulted in the freight consist parked on the East End branch. This AM the crew will park the Dinner Train, deliver the freight train to Interchange, pick up today's incoming cars, bring them to town and do the needed pick-ups and set-outs. All in a day's switching work on the Plywood Empire Route.

This steam switcher came all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to Yankee Stadium to make an important delivery as shown by the box car and billboard in the attached video.

It's 1923 and there will be 2 titans of baseball competing fiercely against each other. Of course, one of them is Babe  Ruth, known as the Sultan of Swat. Who is the other player and what is the product being delivered that the other ball player invested in and made a fortune doing so?

Excellent!!!  If I may ask, how are you supplying power for the leds?

Fendermain

I have a couple small wal-warts that power most of the LED's on the layout. Don't recall the voltage off hand but I'll post a pic later.

Thank you.  I might try some led illumination for a future project.

120VAC- 9 VDC. Lower voltages will work as well. Depends on what you are doing. The LED's can be varied by using different size resistors also.

I'm a day late and a dollar short, no photos to contribute.  Great SWSAT MKII this week.

Johan, your west coast equipment is every bit as good looking as your New England equipment.

Arnold that little switcher was really hauling as ah Coca Cola!

Mike G, never mind the crane, I really like the train.  You've got a one track mind.

Thanks Joe.

Regarding the answer to the question I asked, the great ballplayer who competed fiercely against Babe Ruth and the Yankees in 1923, made a fortune investing in Coca Cola. He got in on the ground floor with his Coca Cola stock investments, before anyone heard of Coca Cola.

Coco Cola was an Atlanta, Georgia company, and this great and very rich ballplayer was also from Georgia.

In fact, he was known as the Georgia Peach.

I suspect most of you know who I am talking about know. He was such a fierce competitor, that he was infamous for sliding with his spikes high, deliberately trying to cut up the fielder trying to tag him out. He was one nasty....., hated by his fellow ballplayers such that hardly anyone came to his funeral even though his .377 lifetime batting average is the highest in the history of baseball.

His name is Ty Cobb, a nasty, hated, but fascinating man.  Arnold

Thanks Coach, I just happen to like Coors and there products! Weather it be cold refreshments or trains! One day when I can afford it I would really like the Coors Light Train!
