I don’t want any more standard gauge trains, but I’d buy that.
What impresses me is the amount of craftsmanship that comes out of your shop with such precision and so quickly. This indeed has been a labor of love. Thank you for sharing your work. Bravo!

I built the passenger cars about 2 years ago from Lee Lines extrusions. Punched the windows to match the 1952 PRR Congressional Limited cars, have 6 in total. Another member of this board has 8 different cars that I built in the same timeframe. I'll have them running at the Chantilly show on Feb 8-9, with the GG1.

Thanks a bunch, I've been working on this one on and off for 2 years, really made a push since Fall York (getting the castings made, then figuring out the drives. Have had the machined steel drive wheels for a while now, and collected parts (gears, pantographs, motors etc). Will be building another 5 in the near term, I can pretty much get anything for THIS engine made new. For some of the other locos, they rely on MTH parts, so that will be getting tougher in the future (like the big Challenger, that uses 2 bild a loco motors and a bunch of 400E and 385E parts.

Made up my own drive. Machined steel wheels, blackened, 1.7" on the tire, the correct size for this engine, aluminum channel, drilled/bushed for .188 shafts, Boston 32 pitch worm/ 20 tooth, German can motors, timing belts to second and third axles. Dallee 12 amp reversing unit.

I have the dallee in mine. Only thing I don't like. Is that it regulates track voltage. I want full voltage to my motor. I want to control voltage at transformer. Anyway the engine just doesn't get to full speed. I like to run fast. Drag race..
