All in perspective, to us 2 rail O scalers that is a pretty good price for detailed kit of that locomotive.

For that price and from you description "body kit" that is what I assume it is.    This means it is the shell only, there is no mechanism.

It should include all the detail parts to finish the shell, including all the grabs and hoses, pilots, lift rings etc.    I have built some of these P&D kits and the ones I have dealt with include hatches and fans to make it either with or without dynamic brakes.

P&D Hobbies still has some kits in stock, and if  you called, I think Pat (the owner) could give more details about the details.    They also have additional parts to customize the units.

And they have power kits for 2-rail. that are pretty expensive too, but very nice.   A couple hundred I think.

Thanks Jim,  I didn't realize it includes the shell.  What I really want is a kit that has all the hardware and mainly, the screens for the horizontal intake. exhaust vents along the side of the engine.  I have purchased grabs, and the maintenance kit for the FT and other detail parts in 2016.  I was very happy with the products.  I don't see the screens I want though, so I thought the full kit would have them included...  Her e is the FT I detailed with P&D EMD-FT maintenance kit'..

An F7 kit most likely does not have screens.    They would be more likely in the early phase F3 kits I think.    Pat does sell screen sets as separate parts.    the set I built I did early PRR F3s with screens.    I can't remember if they came with the kits or were separate purchase.

the FT looks very nice.

Here is what I received from Pat, @ P&D..  The kit does come with screens and they are also sold separately .

I don't need the shell, so I ordered the screens, maintenance kit, fan guards and a MU kit... with shipping I still spent a 100 bucks...😐

I got wire screen right off Amazon.  My spouse has decorative ribbon that would be great for FT screens.

Michaels - wired edge ribbon.  "Super Value Designer Ribbon."  For a 55 cent stamp I would send you enough to do several FTs.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate your offer. I have seen the ribbon. However, I want the actual screens as this engine will be a competition model at the National MRA convention.... And requires prototypical features.... I am building it for a friend that will be entering the competition.....

Doesn't the NMRA contest rules require the entrant to be the builder?

I believe so, except in the case of a handicapped individual'...which is the case. The entrant is a combat disabled veteran.  Both arms are prosthetic.  He can operate trains and build some items. but cannot super detail'.......
