Engine not respond to WiFi explorer

 Can you tell us the item # of this engine or set?

Might be a dead battery or ?? How old is it?

You may have to reset the engine again. Did you do the horn and 5 bells? Did you get 2 horn blasts at the end?

Speaker might have shorted out or something failed. Hard to tell yet.

Thanks it's a RTR rail king Norfolk southern kit. Engine is a ps3  dcs sd40. Can I do the reset trick with the wifi remote?

Cannot reset anything as all I have is the wifi explorer and it will not let me hit buttons without discovering the train. I do not have a throttle. I know it's the train because my sd70ace works fine with this setup.

Do you think taking off the cover and unplugging the battery may reset it?

I got lost for a bit here?? I haven't used the explorer and don't know much about it.

I'm not sure what cover you're describing? Engine? remote?

I was talking about taking off the engine cover and unplugging the battery there is no way to control it from the Wi-Fi unless it discovers the engine when I reset the engine it was from the Wi-Fi when it came back that's when it was stop responding it's acting like it's in DC mode. 

There's no battery in a PS3 engine. The caps replace what the battery did. They discharge over time and you shouldn't touch them. They are soldered to the board.

If the engine takes off. Then it’s getting power but not the DCS signal. Have you reset the Explorer.?

Yes I reset the Wi-Fi Explorer

I bought the Z 1000 Transformer set I will see if I can reset it by using that

Horn then 5 bells bells are a toggle is there a trick I don't hear there two horn confirmation

I have not tried this, but it's said to be difficult to get the timing just right. Others say it can take some practice to get it just right.

Its defiantly in conventional mode as it works with the zephyr controller. I believe started by a derailment and a spark. My SD70ACe engine works just fine, so wiring is correct on track. I am trying to use my zephyr 1000 controller to reset it without success guess i need to get the timing right with the bell and horn.

Thanks got it to reset but still stuck in DC mode. WiFi explorer will not discover it. RMA started with trainworld.
