Axle question

Hello all,

I want to know if possible can you replace the most inside wheels on say MTH rail king emd e8 diesels. I don't like the look of the fake third inside wheel . I bought the new premier Pennsylvania congressional cars and I don't have anything prr to run them with. I see MTH is coming out with a prr emd e8 later this year, but again I hate the fake wheel. I know that they did it for sharp curves but this will run on o72. The only other option is if MTH made a premier version in the same style or f3. Any info would be appreciated thanks .
