I had the same thoughts Ben when I saw that commercial.
Marty was a great guy and a huge contributor to our hobby for many years. Great idea Ben!
Just wanted to update everybody that donated This is the first time I have used GoFundMe and might be my last It has been a nightmare trying to withdraw the funds but I believe after about 100 emails and conversations it is finally in the process I have closed the account so it will not accept anymore donations. The Toy Train Museum wont discuss the designs until they get a check So hopefully as soon as it hits the club account our esteemed Treasurer Al will cut a check and send it on its way to Pennsylvania. Still hoping the dedication ceremony in October will be doable. I will continue to update everybody as we go.
Thank you thank you thank you to all that have donated to this
Ben
Interesting observation Ben, something that I wouldn't have expected. I suppose if they keep the money, it makes the site more profitable.
Great job, Ben! I agree with John, I wouldn't have expected that, but I have had no experience with Go Fund Me.
Well we finally received the funds from GoFundMe in the club account We are cutting a check for $5225.16 and sending it to the TCA Toy Train Museum today. Once they receive it we can finalize the layout Thanks again everyone
Thank you, Ben!!
Outstanding - thank you for the continued updates Ben.
Paul
That’s awesome! Very cool that this came together. Again, fantastic work Ben.
Thanks Ben a job well done Marty would be proud to be honored!
Alan
Moving along The Museum sent me a suggested layout The bricks are not staggered as we had thought before They are straight and in line The layout they sent was way too busy and Marty's name was lost in a bunch of graphics and too small
This is what they sent back
I modified theirs and came up with this I sent it back to them and will wait to hear

I like yours a lot better Ben.
I agree with John. Hopefully they say okay, we'll go with what you sent back to us.
I agree, yours is much better, Ben!
Two thumbs up, Ben.
Just wanted to update everybody. The museum has received our check in the amount of $5225. I updated the design to include Marty’s TCA number. They have advised me that all lettering will be the same font and the same size as a requirement of the brick manufacturer. We should be on schedule to have this done well before October york. I am planning to request a time to schedule a small dedication ceremony. I was thinking the Thursday before the Friday opening of york at about 3 pm. What are your thoughts
Ben, first - your redesign is much better.
Your thoughts on a dedication ceremony @3:00 Thursday are outstanding. I will try like heck to make it just for that.
Thank you Ben.
Paul
If we get that scheduled, I'll be there.
Perfect Ben.
I agree as well. Then we can all head to Quaker Steak and Lube and have a toast to Marty.
This is wonderful. A fitting tribute to a man who's impact in this hobby is truly immeasurable. Thank you for organizing this Ben.
Never been to York but will look to make the trip for the dedication.
Looks great Ben! Myself and Linda will be there. Thanks again for putting this all together.
Looks great Ben !
Alex
Great and will be there!
I like yours better too Ben.
Ben,
Thanks for your efforts in making this happen for our dear departed friend, train friend and football foe! I will miss the Sunday afternoon texts from him on how bad the JETS play. I guess Dottie will take up the slack there!
3 pm on that Thursday sounds like an excellent plan.
Looks very nice Ben, he was a friend to many. Not surprised by the Go Fund Me requirements, they were burned a few times and have gotten stricter.
That the TCA wouldn't work with you until they have the cash in hand is disheartening. Not like we expected them to engrave the bricks ahead of time. Looking forward to images whenever it is finally completed.

Great job guys and well deserved for Marty who contributed and helped so many of us in our hobby.
Wow! Great job guys!
Ben, the NJ Highrailers are, as Marty would say, “top shelf.” Your love of trains is only exceeded by your camaraderie and compassion. I salute you all.
Looks great Ben, may his memory long reign.
Yup, you HiRailers are DEFINITELY TOP SHELF. The naming of the municipal building is by itself an incredible memorial! To me, I understand the check needs to clear, as sometimes "business has to be business". Well done youz guyz!
We were undecided whether to rename it the Dedham Police building or what we did. We found it to be more personal and a better tribute. The other name we were thinking of was " Wicked pi**ah Building" LOL Loved that Boston accent

I totally agree. Great job to Ben and whoever else helped. You guys really are TOP SHELF. Every time I have been to your club I have always been treated with kindness and hospitality. You guys are tops in my book.
Awesome!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Great stuff Ben. Now you need a pub serving Marty's Boston Lager, or something like that. That would be something else too.
