I have several of the newer Lionel Legacy diesel engines with Bluetooth that can use the Universal Remote and the LC App. Obviously when I run the engines with Legacy everything works as it should but when I use the LC App the one thing that is missing is the sound of the prime mover. They all stay in the same idle speed sound no matter how fast the engine goes. The horn, bell, and crew talk are fine, it is limited to the sound of the engine not increasing with the momentum of the engine. So my question is does anyone else experience this with Legacy engines using the LC App and if so, is there a way to correct it? Thanks!

The MTH app exhibits the same behavior when controlling Legacy engines through their wifi.  MTH’s response originally was that they could not reproduce the problem in their lab, although I and others on this forum could on our layouts.  They eventually acknowledged the issue and stated that they were replicating the legacy commands exactly so they could not determine the cause......

MTH actually did correct that issue on their last release of the DCS app.  While the RPM's do not behave exactly as you might expect on the Legacy remote, they found a compromise to get it working. The RPM level is now tied to locomotive absolute speed steps in Legacy mode operation.
