Premium Backdrops are 11 of the top 18 posts in the HONGZ Forum. I know that they are a sponsor but flooding the forum is IMHO annoying. Kinda like robocalls and political adds.
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I agree very annoying .
There is a whole week where no one else posted except Premium Backdrops. It's the lack of other posts, not their one post a day that makes theirs stand out.

Exactly.
No one is forced to read any post. If your time is so valuable and precious that you can't afford to look past a post, how then do you justify spending any time on a toy train forum ?
SORRY, sponsor or not, it is akin to a form of spamming. I have submitted several complaints to the moderator with no response.

Yes it is!

You're looking a gift horse in the mouth. Be careful what you wish for.
Maybe we all just need to post more here to fill the apparent vacuum?
I agree totally with John H.....and I’ll add this, y’all belly acher’s best be careful what ya wish for, no sponsors, no forum, be thankful they advertise........you can skip the post if you like, and keep it to yourself.....this thread is total nonsense........Pat

Don't the sponsors help keep this forum alive by paid advertising ?
To me the O gauge forum has the best way to advertise i have seen its there if you want it but you dont have to open ! good job
One ad a day is spamming? Just went a few weeks back on this forum and it looks like you need more original posters. My brother left me some N stuff that I need to unpack and I’ll post some pics.
I really liked some of the layout pics that have been posted here in the past. Need more.
It is NOT the ad itself that is the problem, but rather the excessive multiple repetitions, without any apparent customer response. I do agree we need more member participation on this forum, but sponsors should have to abide by some rules just as we do.
It also seems that such ad "overkill" might actually be a turnoff for prospective customers, but what do I know?
I find it interesting I'm discussing a store that I have not bought anything from nor probably ever will (I use wood store fronts against a blue painted wall), but in the last 48 hours the topic store has posted one ad here. Lets call another store "store A" that has done 2 posts.
On another forum, this store has done 1 post, store A has done two posts, store B has done two posts, and store C has done 4 posts. Frankly, I always thought store C, on a day to day basis, was the one that overdid it. However, I just bypass their posts and go on to the posts I want to read.
As far as no comments on their posts, not many of the other ads get comments. Besides, a forum needs participants to see the ad to make a comment. I think if this forum had more original posters here nobody would have noticed these ads. As it is, this forum goes days without a new post so it looks like the daily post of this company is spamming. At least they have taken an interest in the HONGZ forum.
Myself, as long as the advertisers keep the OGR forums going I'm happy. Maybe once in a while I'll open their posts to see what they have.
Ron: You make some GOOD and FAIR points. ☺

Yes, it most certainly is. Especially Ron's store C mentioned above. Often, their ad is still on page one of the 3 rail forum and it is reposted.
"Don't look" may be the best advice after all. 😁
