Shown below was my grandfathers 1948 - 1949 Postwar Lionel 2026 Prairie engine with Pullman 6443 - 6442 passenger cars (likely from another set). I have done some work on the engine over the years. About 10 years ago this engines motor was frozen up and did not run. Bill from Ready to Roll in Miami helped me get it running again and it has worked ever since. It does have an issue with the E unit randomly changing direction on its own when switched off the locked direction. I usually just run it locked in the forward and have no problems. Cosmetically the engine is missing some parts. Ive ordered a new front wheel and a new green gem for the front. Im looking to restore the smoke unit with as much original parts as possible. I believe it needs to be cleaned and a new heater element installed. Some of the wires are very brittle as well but I would like to try and keep those. Im looking for any advice and input on this engine in restoring some of those internal 6E29C5C7-0A65-4BA3-8ECD-9276639BF9A5EBA97E72-1A0B-48F8-8B8F-C529893B273ED5E526F2-E792-45EF-881D-8951569730B99BA9637F-CB94-4385-894E-97B0EFE9BB8FEED0FDBE-9F96-4686-8C04-D1B31D8F147C8111B3C8-A5D2-4FCE-AFD7-CCD5B4333100CF8D5C58-2B65-4845-AA16-A4D2F1F071DA771299DA-D834-4E89-B5E9-27E4D7E3F193304EAFFF-EE7B-44B8-804C-C651E4A1DC437C60C036-8A8F-492D-AE21-1C20AE2FDB85802CB3C4-29AA-43BC-98A1-9123079CA6E6356956C7-B094-47FE-98E2-86D7FDD35107F9F9366C-A300-4857-8DFC-0AFE5531ECFD5A0C0211-E150-472E-8687-D60949B0ABCEmechanical parts. I would like to leave the cosmetics mostly as is with the exception of removing all the rust show in the pictures.

Thanks, Karl
