Hey everyone new to train repair but love to fix my own stuff . Well with that said can anyone tell me where the wire from the pickup contacts on a 1970era Pennsylvania tender with sos sound board is wired to on the board . Any help is greatly appreciated this tender came with a 8141 engine
The green wire running from the pickup contacts pairs with the white wire.
When you put your tender back together, make certain to insulate that board from the frame. The foam that originally did that job is almost certainly decayed. I like to use a piece of illustration board, with a dab of hot glue to hold the circuit board to the illustration board, and another dab to hold the illustration board to the frame. It only takes a bit. The glue only has to keep the pieces from sliding around.
If the board shorts against the frame, the board is often damaged.
If all else fails, I have someone that can actually repairs these boards. Contact me for his information.
I've got a 783 Hudson with the same issue. Has anyone put in an updated sound system in their tender?
