This project was posted last year and for whatever reason the entire thread disappeared suddenly. It's a fanatastic effort nonetheless and I am enjoying the looksee while it lasts...

Thanks for posting. That is an impressive railroad. I'm interested in the Bragdon geodesic foam scenery he used to cover the large layout areas. I hope the owner has better luck with the reliability of the AtlasO turnouts than I have had. I now jump all the rail segments for positive connectivity, insert gap insulators,and on a few turnouts replaced the throwbar. Alot of extra work for turnouts I chose to use in hidden staging track yards to speed layout construction!!

I agree, I had alot of difficulties with gaps (or lack there of) and I only installed 3 atlas turnouts. However, once installed, they seem to be very reliable and haven't caused any derailments.
Remarkable progress for only a few people building a project of this scope, the builders are really talented.
Impressive. That said can one/them ever finish a layout that is that big it is almost to big at least for me. I guess it's all perspective if you have an army of workers. Is this a commercial layout or private?

Private owner, professional layout builder.
The layout makes the 2500 SF at our club seem at lot more acheiveable.
In a room that is admittedly not completely climate controlled, I am surpised at the amount of stick lumber used versus exterior plywood ripped to size. I hope the change of season expansion-contraction with all those sticks does not become a problem for them.

They do mention that they are using plywood ripped to size.
