The First Highlight is being at the Greatest Train Show ever, and then being with the TCA Members at the Quaker Steak and Lube is the Second Highlight of the TCA York, PA Meet.

I cannot wait for both of these functions to happen, and then a few of us head to Smokey Bones on Friday Night for another highlight.

But, unfortunately, as soon as TCA York Meet starts, it is over too soon. But I always remind myself that another TCA York is only 6 months away, except for April 2021 Meet. My oldest daughter, Elizabeth, is getting married on Sunday of this York weekend, so the Father Of The Bride has to be there. For those who know me, they have already told me to tell my daughter to change the Wedding, but Elizabeth is my first daughter and she has made the plans and Dad has to be there to give her away.

So, I will not be there in April 2021, but I will be back in the future (and without the Time Machine Delorean with Tri Flux Capacitor and Doc Brown).

First time heading to York! Beyond excited.... look forward to meeting you all at dinner!

Sounds like a great Invitation and we plan to attend. York is a fantastic event, friends, fun, Food, always draws a crowd.  Your friends from Kentucky and Tennessee will there, Lord Willing. Thank You 

I will do my best to be there.  I have to work a half a day and it is a 4 hour trip but I try not to miss it.

Early birds begin to arrive at 5:30 with some arriving after 8:00.    Most arrive in the 6:15 to 7:00 timeframe.

Going to stop by after our AOL gang dinner as I am staying next door at La Quinta.

I generally get there after the close of the meet and then can't find anywhere to sit!!....But...I will visit and then if I can't sit to eat, off to Logan's...or....???  This is a great time to meet and greet and look forward to seeing everyone!

We were all having such a good time that we finally realized no one had taken any pictures so we snapped a few of the remaining group still gathered around

I had a great time talking with Gilly, Jerry, Doug, Don, Joe, John, Phil, and Peter. Always great to talk trains and anything else we all want to listen to. Some very good things to consider came up for the two day meet(s) for next year(not from me because I am still a rookie). All the evening events will need to be coordinated by each of the groups so they don't conflict with each other. I am sure that will be no easy task in itself as there is always a lot going on in general. Just one other thing to consider. Hopefully luck will have us fall right into place and not have to decide what we have to skip.

What a fabulous day today was. .. and then .. Truly enjoyed Great company tonight‼️ 

We certainly missed Steve Tapper's photos and wish him well. I'll add a few photos. We all had a great time at the OGR dinner!

Three of us three trailers were there and I'm an avid fan of OGR.  We set near where Amy Fry was seated....

I wish that I could have met you in person.  This is the way things are generally.  Everyone knows everyone else with us as the exception...

You just have to get in and rub elbows with the masses when you get there.  After years of going, I still meet people at ever meet that I never met in person.

I had the best time that night. Put faces to a lot of names and a lot of fantastic conversation. Beer, wings and trains: my 3 favorite things!

The OGR crew got there late because they had to close up which is always the case. Some usually stay way late. I always enjoy a great glass of Guinness with my steak.

No one knew me either when I first starting going to the various breakfasts and dinners at York and other shows.  You just have to keep showing up and start mixing in and introducing yourself to others.  I meet new folks at every meet.  Before long you'll be bumping into someone you know at every meet.  Don't give up!

Last October Allan Miller walked around from table to table when he got there or possibly after he ate. It is not hard to meet people, it's just a question of mingling. Last year Peter, aka Putnam Division popped over to me and we talked for a bit before popping over to one of the other tables and chatting up quite a bit. The NJ Hi-Railers were in the back that time(and this time) and closed the place probably.

It is all a matter of just enjoying everything that's going on. I got to meet Gily, & Jerry who are part of Peter's club. DougN joined us at our table and he and I were running into each other since Wednesday at both the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, the Toy Train Museum as well as breakfast.

Yep, that's how it works.  My first York I knew a handful of people.  Now I know hundreds there, and there's always someone bopping by and saying hi.   There's nothing like being able to put a face with the names, a major reason why I go to York.
