I don't know, but I wish I did.  At first, I figured it was going to be a modified KTM.  It's not.  It's custom built from scratch. Whoever did it, did a masterful job. I've owned several TTTs. This is one of my favorites. Second only to the Bassett custom KTM shown earlier in this thread.

The collector I bought it from wasn't sure who built it either. He said he bought it a long time ago from some modeler who used to run it at the Pomona fairgrounds.

The tender trucks and springs have  gotten a little weak.  So it doesn't ride level, and wheels make contact with the body.  I'll have to figure that out before I can run it.  

Just picked up the latest Union Pacific MTH SD70M cab 4014 from my dealer. Runs nice, sound good, and now is in revenue service on the layout. I don’t operate any steam engines so I didn’t purchase this engine as part of the Big Boy restoration project, I bought it just because I like Union Pacific diesels.

Sorry Witt, I just saw your post.

I have numerous projects for the vette including sound proofing and new carpet, but unable to do anything that physical yet. Just had a 5 speed installed before I went in the hospital, which is a godsend with the 4:11 rear end I want to retain. Only got a chance to driver it back from the shop before the hip pain was extreme so looking forward to really getting to do a test drive.

Being recently retired I will have time for both hobbies now and am really getting bitten by the train bug again.  Building my 1st IM kit in 4-5 years and having a ball.

Scratch another one off the white whale list thanks to Stout Auctions.

Should have this in my hands sometime soon.

I'll likely send it out for some work for smooth running and to make it perfect.

From what info I can find, I believe  OMI only made 10 models of this prototype.

Well, today I actually had a few minutes to tinker.  So I pulled out the consolidation which I haven't touched since I purchased it a couple of months ago. 

I was able to get all the running gear aligned and lubricated. Freed up the gearbox. Aligned and oiled all wheel sets. Checked for contact and clearance issues.  I think for the first time in twenty plus years this thing is now running.

Everything moves smooth and freely by hand turn, but it is a GROWLER!!

Not sure if it is the worm gear slipping around or more likely, there is also a sprung universal link on the shaft from the motor to the gear box. More work than I have time for today.  One more thing on the list...😉

Wow Whit!  I just saw your post on the FEF-1 damage. That's pretty severe and may cost more to fix than insurance or Stout is willing to pay. As you stated, I now insist on seller wrapping the loco and tender individually and shipping them separately from the factory box. I'm willing to pay for it and if the seller isn't willing to do it I just pass. Too many heartbreaks before learning this lesson. 

Been doing a little modeling but nothing serious. Really been experimenting with trucks, couplers, bolster mods, brake shoes and weathering.

Bought some body bolster conversion kits from Protocraft along with some of their "type E" couplers and putting them on another IM kit I'm slowly building. Just trying to standardize and figure out which way to go. IMG_0238IMG_0240IMG_0241Brake Shoe Conversion [4)

Thanks Bob. It's a nice thread. I checked it out. I agree with Butch.  Something about the pace. I like drifting out here in the eddy of the photo album. A little more relaxed.
