Late yesterday, Mr. Brown dropped off my latest haul of good deals from @MrMuffin'sTrains

First up are two Atlas O BAR 50’ PS-1 Plug Door Boxcars. They are rather heavy (a good thing) and have great graphics...

BUT... the spacing between the cars seems unusually large - does anyone have experience with these cars... is the spacing normal???

Next up is a MTH Long Island Gondola with a Bridge Girder. Based on a recent discussion on another thread, I think the car is done in the Tichy paint scheme!!! One of the things that drew me to this car was the girder marked for the ‘64 - ‘65 New York Worlds Fair which I fondly remember visiting on many occasions (the girder even sports the Unisphere, the symbol of the Fair which still stands in Flushing Meadows Park ). The girder is metal which gives the car a good heft.

Currently just running conventional with the Cab-1. Heading out soon to find a TMCC engine at a store nearby where they have a good selection of TMCC locos. Have my eyes on a pair of k-line interurbans.

This k-line kruiser from eBay, Mercedes G-ClassUS Army Jeep . Also a set of 4 Lionel highway lights(you seee the one to the left of the jeep).Goes well with the soldiers and the wellys GM Police SUVs. image

I bought this magnificent Ferromex SD70ACe today, and it runs smoothly. I am concerned about its lack of high speed, but even when crawling at low speed, it is a smooth operator. Ferromex owns 116 of this specific version of the SD70AC, which was replaced in 2015 by a more emission-free version.

I wonder: does anyone else on this forum own any Ferromex locos or rolling stock?SUNP0008SUNP0007SUNP0009SUNP0001

Lightning struck twice today! I had bought the battery-powered HO steamer that I just posted about. But I also boughtSUNP0001SUNP0003 this loco today. The problem is no matter what I did, I could not get the top off, so I finally made a small break in the back. I installed  a single  AA battery, and it runs great.

Unfortunately, it doesn't fit on any tracks that I have, but for $1, it sure is a nice-looking piece of junk.

In (almost) new condition: it is a real brute and I suspect any of my AC-driven stuff will love it.

Now, I still really like my old Flyer "15B", but I'm hoping this unit will offer a bit more "flexibility"...we shall see...

Added this MTH GP30 EMD Demonstrator to my collection of GP30s.  It’s in brand new condition and had less than 8 minutes on the chronometer and 2.4 miles on the odometer.  It is an early PS2 with the 5V. boards.  Bought it for less than $180 not including shipping through the Trainz auction.

Vincent I have an MTH Ferromex ES44AC that I bought a couple of years ago.  Had the Lionel version but sold it.  I also have an MTH TTX/TFM auto rack, which is now TTX KCSM.

Still trying to keep up with Brian!

Vincent, I bought it because occasionally I have seen a Ferromex ES44AC in a BNSF consist as run through power in my neck of the woods.  The same reason I have CSX, NS, KCS, CN, and CP engines to run with my BNSF or UP engines.  Oh, and I like the livery.  Although most of the time when I have seen a UP train it has nothing but UP power.AFD23BD7-1C21-4E71-9145-B22D15BD5021

Vincent, the real Ferromex 4672 was built in 2007 and real Ferromex  4061 was built by Bombardier in Mexico in 2011. Just a little Google research.  

Note the greens are different on both engines.  When 4672 was built it was in the same green as your 4061.  I think 4672 was repainted circa 2017 in the green of my 4672.  When I ordered it I assumed it would be in the original green.  I was a little disappointed and surprised when I got it.

I bought one when first out, before the Z4000 was available.  Thought it would be the "cat's meow" for many reasons.  But quickly found out that my many MTH engines really did not like it.  For one thing with this vs. my KW the MTH engine sound system would all hum.  Did not like that!

Then it's a good thing I don't have any MTH engines...plus, I don't really care for "sound systems" anyway...so I guess I'm good. I think my locos will be happy enough.

EDIT: I've got company through the middle of next week, so I won't be able to give this thing a complete test for a while, but just a quick check shows my PW Flyer(s) and '90s era Lionel(s) seem to like it...

Since l am a fan of side door, combine, and drover cabeese, and never pass up a cheap Bob Peare "Traincraft" side door kit, l got these two needing restoration off the net.  Also included a covered hopper that was a plastic kit with a metal frame, but l can find no brand.  It is missing a few simple side braces, but l can't use in 1940, so $5.00 and shipping owns the hopper.  The cabeese will get working couplers, and green and yellow repaint and custom decals.  Too bad Peare didn't model the FEC sidedoors, and l'd have my boomered Great Western cabooses.

Had this for a few months now.  Couldn’t get a good picture on my temporary layout.

It’s the new MTH version of the RF&P E8 commuter train.  Saw them as a kid when dropping my Dad off at Broad Street Station in Richmond.  He would take it quarterly to D.C.  for business meetings.

It runs and looks great.  Very satisfied with my first Premier engine purchase.

Purchased these last Friday during the TrainWorld free shipping deal. Now I got 7 cars to pull with my Reading T1. This 2 pack of cars is actually a bit nicer than the 5 pack I purchased last month. The diner car has a lot of attention to detail in the interior, all the seated figures are holding plates with food on them, there are standing figures serving food, and even a chief in the kitchen part of the car. Now I really want to purchase the matching RPO car, maybe even the last 2 car pack.

I can't wait to run these at my local club some time next month, since running 7 cars on my home test track is not really ideal.

She always asks for gifts to give me back.  It's better than getting a necktie!  

Went to my LHS this weekend to look in the bargain bin for my next post-war restoration project and came across this little Lionel HO set that was NIB and had a Lechmere Sales (circa 1960's large Boston department store) sticker for $13.88. Got it for a good price and took it home and cleaned and lubed everything up and it runs great - it's just a small collector's item, but my 2 year old granddaughter loves it and can operate the transformer lever.

Scored this 4 car set of Lionel Lackawanna MU commuter cars from 1991/2. For a little over $200, I consider that a steal.

As a boy who grew up in Lackawanna territory and along the NJ Transit electric lines (Gladstone to Summit), these were a must have.

The electronic reverse unit is a little finicky, but otherwise these are quiet, smooth runners. The powered unit has twin Mabuchi can motors. Seems like good candidates for command control upgrades.
