So I am working on my town area and I want to add trees along the parkway. Most of the time, trees are set into the concrete sidewalk in pits that are covered with grates. The styles of grates vary from rectangular to circular; with sometimes ornate metal designs to allow water to reach the tree roots in the pit.
Using AutoCad's 123Design program I laid out a pattern in 2D and then like in SketchUp pulled various parts of the design into 3D. And printed the result. the overall diameter is 7/8" with the hole size of 13/16" to create a lip.
