3D prints of ATLAS box car stirrups

Alan, are these any less brittle than the originals? Atlas parts always seem more fragile.

Nice Alan. Intermountain owners can use these as well. Can plastic solvent cement be used with this material?

First, these are resin not plastic or Delron; so YES they are for looks only. [no heavy breathing on them]

Second, once installed Don't use your fingers on them to move the Freight cars.

Third to install I would use Bondic and a UV light pen OR superglue.

I like to model using thickness dimensions 0.06" or greater as you can see the stirrup thickness is 0.045" a bit less than what I use for the railings of other models like the Bracketed Signal Towers.

There are 3D printing shops that will print my models with better materials like nylon. However, the cost is not cheap!

Good to know. Sounds like these are more fragile than styrene rather than less fragile.

There would be a substantial market for details that could replace the fragile styrene detail that Intermountain used. I think even ABS would be stronger.

Solid job! It's tricky when you get to the low end of sizes for 3D printing.
