Santiago----> For your information, I have made some drawings of an imaginary interior wall with different colors and printed on glossy photo paper; the result is not so bad but I don't insert pics on the forum because the colors are not the same on the screen and once printed. These are obviously exemples only; other colors could be done.

With your last photos of the end room partition, I think, ther is something intersting to draw!

So, if you want to see the final appearance of these decorative motifs, I can put the sheets in an envelope and send them to you.

IMG_5674I've started working on the underbody.... I connected the generator to the trucks and added steam traps. Also did some piping to the valve distributor. The steam and air lines are now fully connected and not just screwed from the factory.

I attached a switch to one truck for easy control of the lights. They will be powered by a single battery, this avoids flicker and possible damage to the circuit.

  Santiago,,

You  outdid yourself and ,still not done.   Lefty Gateman and Joe Fischer would both be proud.

Pat yourself on the back.... AWESOME!!!!!!

I have to give the flower vases a try, but I'm just getting to your CZ vent tricks and there are a lot of vents on the whole train.   Wallet card holders right?

Thank you! I'm humbled by your words, buddy!

Fabulous work Santiago - equal or better than any I've seen to date.   Years ago Dan Pantera (Calumet Shops) detailed a 1980's era brass Sunset Broadway Limited consist for me.  At my request he installed a commercial rechargeable NI-CAD battery lighting circuit in the cars.  At the time I was running DC  and wanted constant lighting without flicker.  The battery setup worked fine for several years until one of the batteries leaked.   I plan to remove battery lighting from all my passenger cars and replace it with a solid state (CL2 driver and capacitor) circuit posted by gunrunnerjohn on the OGR Forum.  Works well with DCC and LEDS  - constant intensity, no flicker.

Santiago: Yer killin' me, here!  Curved roof?  Flat roof?  What roof?  Your work is fine art and too fine to relegate to the ranks of kinda-prototype.  There's gotta be a fix!

Are you talking about the uppermost deck of the clerestory or the sheet metal covering a/c ductwork between what our friends at Mid Continent define as "upper deck" and "lower deck"?

This is railroading, dammit, use a bigger hammer.

RTH, I apologize for the lousy wording, I'll try to use appropriate terminology from now on.  The deck side on Q dinners were continuous. In my model's prototype that deck was interrupted by an all round roof that went from the upper deck all the way to the side of the car.

The only fix I see is to keep the car lettered PULLMAN.

Jonny, these are surface mount LEDs. They are hidden on top of the roof

You didn’t use any cover or lens over the LEDs? It almost looks like you did and that’s why I was asking.

Regardless, Amazing work!!!!

I didn't use a lens, but I did use tracing paper to diffuse the light. I'll take a close up with the lights off for ya.
