I have a pair of 3rd rail ATSF FTs. One operates as advertised. Other set announces re-set each time it powers up either by DC or DCC. I am able to program in the loco address and run it normally except it says MAX after running awhile. Headlight, bell and horn work. After repowering I have to reprogram the loco number each time. It reverts back to #3. Also unable to effect the reed switch with a magnet. Are these all symptoms of a bad reed switch or something deeper in the decoder? jefferson
Answer to my own question. I reset with CVs, turned off the DC and talk back. No change, then I removed the reed switch and all is well. Lesson-beware of the reed switch. A thank you to Keystone Ed for his behind the scenes help.
