I'm guessing Scott doesn't have enough reservations as of yet to give the green light to this project. Hoping he does as I want this engine. BAD. Figured I'd post pics of the engine I want which I found with the help of the NYC historical society.

One needs to proselytize here, to whip up interest. We B&O foamers did that, to get our Q-4, T-3, and P-7 models, and the full Cincinnatian.
Of course, we also had Bob Heil on our side.

The NYC Mikado is doing reasonably well in reservations - a lot better than the last time. Need a few more before Scott will begin.

Brass cabeese are out there. Kohs has been talking about doing one for about ten years now. In the meantime look for a Mullet River one. With a little more work the Williams brass caboose could be pretty nice too.

Emailed Scott about these and I asked Scott about the H10 NYC/B&A mikados whether or not this project is going forward. He has enough reservations to proceed. Design work will happen this winter with late 2021 delivery.
These are going to be really nice. I put my order in way back in '09 when these were first thought of and never thought we would get to this point. Bought an old US Hobbies version in the interim but the P&LE version this go round should be just the ticket! I see the Alco FA-1 is no longer even listed on 3rd Rail's site for reservations? Is that one a no go?

The H10a locomotive was priced higher than what I would spend but, as a B&A fan, I would sign up for a brass B&A caboose.

I don’t see any photos (found photos of the engines) for FA units but this is still on the reservation’s page.
Good to know we may see the FA's.

If Scott would have put the PRR FA-1, i bet a LOT more reservations would come in.
I emailed Scott yesterday to ask about the status of the NYC H10a and if it was too late for me to jump on board. Good news is there still is time for me to reserve one but before I do I want to try to raise 40% of the money. I figure in today's world of O gauge if you don't pre-order when it is something special you most likely will have a tough time getting the item.
In looking at Gary's photos in the original post, does anyone know what that pipe is near the smokestack on the fireman's side? I have never seen a locomotive with that pipe on the boiler. I found 2 pictures of a H10a in the Al Staufer book NYC Later Power (page 96) and neither locomotive had the pipe. Just my opinion but I think it is a nicer looking engine without the pipe. However this will not deter me from ordering one if I can come up with some of the money now.
I think and could be very wrong, only the B&A had this pipe, at least early on, during out shopping I'm sure it was removed when these engines were transferred to NYC proper. B&A Berkshires had the same piping.
If you look for NYC H10 here you will see no piping. the NYC version will look like these.
