4-pack disconnect car set

I recently purchased this new Lionel 6-85380 - Disconnect Work Car "Union Pacific". However when unpacking from the clamshell casing and plastic from the stake bed car, two of the stakes hung up in the plastic sheeting and broke off. Upon removing the car, I noticed how thin and delicate these stakes are.

Has anyone else experienced this breakage? These things are so delicate that I wonder how they installed them in the factory without breaking a number of them.

Gonna contact Lionel to see if they can get me some replacement stakes.
