This version is just over 4' X 12 ' . It has an interesting track layout with route variations, return loops, and a "grand tour" route that goes through the crossing in the middle near the station. The outside route travels through compound O-48 & O-36 curves with O-48 easements. The inside loop-to-loop is O-36.
For benchwork just larger than 4X12: If conventional plywood tabletop, add lengths of 1X4, 1X2, or moulding to the straight edges on the top and sides. If using 4X8 sheets of 2" thick construction foam, use Gorilla Glue (which is actually an expanding foam glue) to glue thicknesses of 2" thick foam to the back and one side to get the additional width and length. Optionally, you can run short dowels through the foam sides coated with Gorilla Glue for additional strength.
