6-14002 amp/volt meter HELP

i am useing 4 of the 14002 meters on my layout , at times when turning power off meter will not turn off it lights up the first to numbers on the amp meter as 88. this problem is common on all meters at eny time but not all at the same time. if i remove battary does not happen. have not been able to find problem .
