I have been looking at the PW GG1 for awhile but finding a good one is always way out my budget. However, I noticed the Williams #41703 Semi-Scale Die-Cast GG1 PA Silver 1 Stripe for sale on Trainworld. The price seems fantastic. However, what are some of the thoughts on this model?

I picked up a K-Line semi-scale GG1 a few months ago.  They may be another option if you are looking to increase your roster.  The one detail I like on the K-Line model is the full sized cab doors on the sides.

Not that it matters on this thread, but I also have a scale Williams GG1 that I purchased from a fellow forum member.  It's a smooth runner.

Dan,

I had a K-Line semi scale GG-1 when they first came out with it, however the sides on the wheel sets fell apart on me, otherwise it run very well. I bought it as the special purchase item for close to $100.00 because I had the K-Line club membership back when K-Line was still 100% K-Line. The K-Line semi scale GG-1 had a wire harness for hook-up to Lionel TMCC but NO TMCC was provided by K-Line.

Personally I would get the Williams GG-1 as I think it has better quality in it. You might want to upgrade the sound system in the Williams GG-1.

Maybe that's why the price was so good, $80.00 !   I guess time will tell.
