I usually just attend on Thursday, but I'll go on Friday this year to see what the "open to the public" looks like. BTW, my TCA membership renewal came a few months early this year. Is everyone now on the same date for renewal? Got it in December rather than March.

I noted the same thing re:membership renewal (received a physical renewal notice via US Mail here). I note that in my case the due date was still the end of March.
Maybe they just did a larger bulk mailing to get a better postal rate?

Same here. I received my renewal in the mail and got one on line. My membership is also due in March. I think they want to due memberships on line, maybe wanting to know how many people are still going to be members?
Seems like York moves later and later in the month.. next in May?
My York Meet plans are always the same.... Wednesday night to Saturday. Only things that change are where we might go to eat, or any unforeseen outside events that might cause changes.
The renewal email is only an alert of when your renewal is due and notifying you that you can renew online anytime before then. Also noted is how they can cut down on paper, processing and postage costs by members renewing online.

Actually, I got it in the regular mail.

Scheduling of York depends on when Easter falls and in recent years they have tried to avoid having it on the same weekend as the Carlisle car show. This year, Easter is April 16 and spring Carlisle is 19-23.
They avoid doubling up with Carlisle so that the Most Interesting Man in the World can attend both.
My plans haven't changed. Still planning go on Friday as usual.
I got an email from the TCA about 3 months ago asking me to renew my membership and it said if I renewed now I could save them the cost of mailing me out a letter via US Mail. I happened to have some extra cash at the time so I renewed early. My due date stayed the same which was yesterday.
That explains it... I did agree that April 27-29 did seem way out there compared to previous dates. I remember a few times when it did overlap with the car show... that makes for more packed hotels and higher rates.

I'm keeping my usual plans - in Thursday morning and home Friday night (have to coach baseball Saturdays).

Plan will stay the same. Arrive about 9:30pm Sunday night, leave the fairgrounds no later than 11:32am on Saturday.
Drive all day. Sleep at motel. Arrive at fairgrounds at 11:30am on Thursday. Stay until car is full. Start driving home sometime on Friday. Repeat in 6 months.
